Case summary
Good Word is a weekly gospel initiative bringing the inspired Word of God from M.Div student William Carpenter to a wide audience, making the concepts visually compelling and deeply meaningful to the message. Since launch, the project has produced over 50 consecutive weeks of content, translating theological study into short-form, visually driven posts designed for accessibility and daily relevance.
Problem framing
Theological concepts are hard to understand
Sermons and seminary-level theological writing are rich in meaning but often dense and difficult for a broad, scrolling social audience to absorb. The challenge was to take William's biblically grounded, academically informed reflections and reformat them into concise, visually engaging content without diluting doctrinal depth or losing the voice and tone of the original message

Creative Approach
Developing a system for creativity in consistency
Each week, a devotional message rooted in scripture is distilled into a short narrative arc, broken into slide-by-slide sections for Instagram carousel posts. Visual direction pairs each theme with imagery, texture, and typography chosen to reflect the tone of the passage. Consistent editorial standards were established around clarity, capitalization of divine pronouns (He, His, Him), and preserving scripture references exactly as written, ensuring theological accuracy stayed intact through the process. Even through this structure in consistency, creativity is still explored since the history of context supports layouts.

Execution Strategy
Building a weekly routine
Content cadence: Weekly publishing rhythm sustained for a year, building an archive of consistent, recognizable devotional content.
Design system: Recurring visual language (typography, color, imagery motifs) built to make each post immediately identifiable as part of the Good Word series.
Editorial process: Collaborative refinement loop between author (William Carpenter) and myself, focused on tightening language, improving flow, and maintaining voice.
Format evolution: A developing shift from static image posts toward short-form video, guided by audience engagement data.

Impact
Reaching thousands with the Good Word of God
Good Word has established a durable content engine that turns theological scholarship into a recurring, visually distinctive social media presence. The consistency of the weekly format has built an identifiable brand for the message itself, while the visual-first approach has made complex scriptural concepts more approachable to a lay audience without compromising their substance. Through Meta advertising and connection, thousands have read the Good Word of God.

Reflection
Working with deep purpose and vast meaning
Translating specialized, text-heavy expertise (in this case, seminary-level theology) into a consistent, visually led content format is a repeatable model: pair a subject-matter expert with disciplined editorial and design standards, and sustain it long enough for the format itself to become recognizable. This framework gives deep ideas a groundwork for continual publishing, allowing an audience to grow and learn alongside you.
